NURSERY DETAILS | SOURCE GUIDE

After the rush of the One Room Challenge, this girl needed a bit of a break.  But, I'm back!  And I wanted to share all the sources for the Pacific Northwest Nursery as the space wouldn't have been nearly as successful without all the wonderful people and vendors that helped me out in a six week time crunch!

The cutest!!!  I can't wait to get our tiny new soul into this onesie

The cutest!!!  I can't wait to get our tiny new soul into this onesie

1. Nice To Meet You Onesies - The Oyster's Pearl -   I ordered it from their Etsy shop.  It was a quick turn around and the quality is just lovely!

2. Washington State Teether - Little Spalding Toys - I am so happy with this purchase!!  This might end up being a go-to purchase for all my friends and clients having babies.  They have tons of other adorable toys too.

3. Wood and Crochet Pacifier Clip - Vikas Creations Shop - Now, in all actuality, my first born refused a pacifier.  But, I'm praying that I don't have that issue with baby number two!  This clip is so my style with the cool combo of crochet and birch wood beads.

4. Grey Moccasins - Freshly Picked - I bought two pairs for Baby P and can't say enough good things about the quality and comfort Freshly Picked offers.  I couldn't pass up a tiny pair for the impending newborn!

5. Wooden Blocks - Amazon - Really happy with the quality and I love that they have a modern vibe.

I love everything about this image!!  The drapes turned out gorgeous and serve as the PERFECT backdrop to this mobile.

6. Felt and Wood Mobile - Sproutling Co. - The owner of this shop was sooooo sweet and accommodating!  She was excellent at letting me know when to expect my order and I have nothing but excellent things to say about the quality.  It does come with a short attachment piece, but I kind of loved that I was able to add my own special touch by creating a longer cord from the ceiling by hand.  In my opinion, the price for the quality is exceptional!

7. Emerald Drapery Panels - Whitestone Design Group - I'm so excited to share that Whitestone with soon be launching its shop!  These drapery panels will be available in 3 lengths in 5 color ways!  We designed the fabric and hand selected the colors that we feel are both timeless and on trend.

8. Prayer Beads - Whitestone Design Group - Another available product coming to Whitestone Design Group!  You'll be able to snag these custom designed birch bead prayer beads with handmade cotton tassels in 3 lengths!

Couldn't be happier!!

Couldn't be happier!!

9. Brass Chandelier - Mod Creation Studio - I cannot believe I got such a high quality piece for such a great price!  I get so many compliments on this light fixture.  My favorite part about this piece is that I actually replaced a HORRIBLE boob light with this fixture.  It was awesome to be able to purchase this with a small drop in order to make it work in a bedroom with standard ceilings and not fear it would hit someone in the head! Major win.

10. Natural Crib - Ikea - Clean and simple.  It fit my vision perfectly and I was able to get it quickly.

11. Tassle Blanket - Opalhouse for Target - Soft and lovely.

12. Leather Pouf - Sousou Design - I was really picky about color when looking for this ottoman/pouf.  The quality is great and it came stuffed, which I was really happy about.  I needed quick and efficient!

13. White Rocking Chair - AllModern - really happy with the quality and I don't have to worry about child number 1 completely wrecking it!

14. Faux Fur Pillow - World Market - I wanted some great texture and this pillow delivers!  World Market is such a great spot for quick pick items.

15. Custom Painting - This painting will soon be available via Whitestone Design Group in three sizes.  It's stunning and I love that it was hand done by a local artist that we'll be partnering with.  For more information please contact us at hello@whitestonedesigngroup.com.

16. Natural Daybed - CB2 - it's best selling feature is that it becomes a queen size bed!

17. Jute-Sisal Rug - RugsUSA - So soft to the touch!  I'm so happy with the quality with this rug and would order it 10 times over.

18. Homegrown Onesie - Mini and Meep - I mean... This onesie couldn't have been more perfect for this nursery if it tried.  And, it's organic!

19. A B to Jay Z Book - The Little Homie - cutest. book. ever!!  This child of the 80s/90s LOVES it!

20. Buffalo Print - Target - framed and all... Can't beat the price.

Although this nursery didn't take first place in this years One Room Challenge, I can't complain.  The nursery that did win was absolutely adorable and I still love my space SOOOO much!  Now, it's time to sit back and welcome baby number two to their new bedroom!

Thank you again to all the vendors that bent over backwards to help me get this space together.  And thank you to the magical Wynne of Whearlephotography for taking such beautiful images of my work.

PACIFIC NORTHWEST NURSERY | ONE ROOM CHALLENGE - WEEK 5

One.  Week.  Left.  I can't believe what a wild ride these past five weeks has been.  I can't believe I've made it?!  I can't believe that next week, it'll all be over and the space will be complete?!  Of all of the weeks, I can say without hesitation that this past week has been the most demanding.  Painting, drilling, coordinating, and making last minute judgement calls has been what this week has been made of.  But, as this challenge is coming to it's close, I feel the sense of relief starting to seep in that makes every, single design project worth it.

Along with getting everything in place for this awesome One Room Challenge, this mama is busy getting everything ready in our home to welcome this new babe!

Along with getting everything in place for this awesome One Room Challenge, this mama is busy getting everything ready in our home to welcome this new babe!

No lies, I'm completely and totally exhausted!!  I have had multiple nights this past week wondering, "What the hell where you thinking?!  I mean, you're 80 thousand months pregnant for God's sake and your toddler has never been busier!"  However, I just took the time to check some items off of last weeks list and that at least makes me feel a bit better.  If you're just checking in for the first time this week, you can view the previous post in relation to the One Room Challenge below:

Whitestone Design Group | Pacific Northwest Nursery | One Room Challenge - WK 5 Checklist

Receiving the custom designed fabric was one of the biggest highlights of my week!  Having a fabric line for Whitestone Design Group has been a DREAM of mine for years...  Seeing it come to fruition has been beyond rewarding and the excitement of seeing the soft goods in place is keeping me motivated.

The other HUGE win this week was wrapping up the DIY Dresser that we are using as storage and the changing table.  THAT was a labor of love... When I originally drafted up my design plans for my intentions with the old dresser, I thought that the construction would be a piece of cake.  Lies... all lies.  It took quite a bit longer than I expected and I got a few more splinters than I was planning on.  However, I am really, truly happy with how its come together and I look forward to putting a Designer DIY post together once this challenge has concluded to share how we made it happen.

The sad news...  I had to cancel the daybed.  After weeks of delay, I finally called and cancelled.  As Designers, we always have to have backup plans.  I really loved the Lubi Daybed by CB2 because of it's size and color, but a six week timeline is no joke and as Tim Gunn of Project Runway says, I had to "make it work!"  So, "bye bye" beautiful grey daybed and "Hello" natural linen!

Out with the Old

Out with the Old

And in with the NEW!!!

And in with the NEW!!!

WHAT'S NEXT

So, as you can see on the list above, there are some big items left to complete.  We were able to put the new trim and baseboards in, but I fear that there just won't be enough time to wallpaper the closet.  None-the-less, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am excited to share how this gender neutral nursery comes together next week with you all!

This week, I'll be finishing up all the soft goods for the space, pillows, draperies, etc.  I'll be finishing up my little crafting projects which you can see more of on my Instagram Stories ORC Highlights.  I'll be patiently waiting for the remaining furniture pieces to arrive as well as the commissioned art (eeeeek! I can't wait).  And last, but not least, I'll be starting to fill the room with all the tiny, little things it takes to take care of the new babe!

Here are a few teaser images to get you through to next week.  As always, thank you SO much for following my journey.  Having babies is such a special time in life and getting to be involved with this One Room Challenge in the midst of it all has been more fun than it has been stressful for sure. What a ride!!!  Make sure to check in to see what the others are doing here.  I'm in AWE of some of the rooms that these talented Designers are pulling off in just 6 week!

See you next week!

Before & After : Studio Six The Salon & Spa

We were approached in the late fall by two wonderful business women (and sisters!) that had taken a leap of faith and bought a hair salon together.  We were flattered when the two of them thought of Whitestone Design Group to transform the space into the business of their dreams.  With one of the owners being a Professional Esthetician, they needed to retrofit the existing hair salon into a business that could also accommodate skin care and massage.  Using the minds of Professional Interior Designers proved to make their wishes come true in one of the most rewarding transformations we've done to date!

AFTER :

BEFORE :

We went on quite the journey exploring what look we wanted to achieve, but it was the surrounding businesses and the owners love of a feminine color palette that determined the overall aesthetic.  Together Heather Scherie and Katie developed a new space plan that would maximize the selling power in the reception area of the salon.  With a smartly thought out design plan and a flexible team of contractors, Studio Six was able to keep their doors open for business throughout the two weeks of construction.  Remodels are never easy, but this project was certainly one of the smoothest we have experienced thus far!

AFTER :

Although the space turned out beautiful, perhaps the part of this project that we are most proud of is the amount of revenue the salon is now producing through the product display and storage we factored into the space.  A crisp, white, lighted product feature wall allows the salon and spa to highlight speciality items that drive their business and increase sales.

AFTER :

The makeup application counter allows them to book appointments with prom attendants, brides and their bridesmaids, and the date-night-bound woman.  It also serves as a great way for them to try out products on interested clients and host tutorials and seminars.

AFTER :

Renovating your business gives your clients and staff confidence.  As an owner, it shows them that you are committed to your business and increases everyone's sense of pride.  Working with an Interior Designer on Interior Architect can help lead you down the right path to making the financial decisions that will help increase revenue and customer experience.  We are so proud to have been part of this tenant improvement project and look forward to working with them on the next phase of their growth!  Please enjoy some more of our favorite details shots from the photo session.

AFTER :

Paint Colors below are from Benjamin Moore's Color Stories Palette, Lace Handkerchief CSP 220 and Picnic Basket CSP 730.  Trim color is Benjamin Moore's White Dove OC-17

We really appreciate you taking the time to check out our before and after transformation of Studio Six, The Salon and Spa.  Interior Design is our passion and Whitestone Design Group is here to help with both Commercial and Residence Renovations of all sizes.  If you know a business owner in need of a renovation, or a growing business moving into a new or larger space, we certainly can make their transition easier and more enjoyable!  For inquiries, contact us at hello@whitestonedesigngroup.com

Before & After: Sammamish Residence

This is a great residential interior design before and after showcasing the power of paint and taking the client's modern aesthetic and meshing it with the traditional architectural details of their home. This young family had just moved into this home, purchased a few pieces of contemporary furniture and once it was delivered, they realized they needed some HELP. We were so happy to come in with an initial paint consultation and ended up completing a full service interior design package. Take a look at the results and let us know what you think!
