HALLOWEEN HOME TOUR | 2018

H A P P Y H A L L O W E E N

Now that I have little ones running around my home, I feel like this was the appropriate year to start adding a little spooky decor around the house and I’m so glad I did. Here’s a few photos of the minimal decor I started with this year and a few links to some Halloween Decor I’ll most likely be adding next year.

A few goodies for next year!

Stay safe and enjoy this festive eve! Happy Halloween and Happy Designing!

Do Not Feed the Bears | Baby Shower

When my husband and I found out our dear friends were pregnant with their first child, I couldn't have been more excited for them!  And quite frankly, we are just as excited that our children will be so close in age that they will grow up together! Best friends in the making.  I was so happy when she said yes to letting me throw a shower for her.  Best part, they aren't revealing the sex of the baby!  So, it was time to get creative with the gender neutral theme.

Because we all love the outdoors and do at least one annual camping trip a year, it seemed like the perfect fit!  And hey, my sweet tooth is always up for a delicious s'mores treat!  I'm looking  forward to doing our first camping trip as a group of six!

Pulling it all together was easy once I became fixated on making a buffalo check bunting banner.   Things seemed to naturally evolve after that.  I warn you though... Set aside enough time for such a task...  I got more than I bargained for!

The tent was a huge hit!  My dog wanted to make it her home, but we sent it home with the parents to be for their newest addition to enjoy when they're older.

The table came together quite easily.  I repurposed the wood from a prior event, gather the rocks from my yard, filled in some space with some live plants and topped it off with some tasty treats!

The s'mores bar outside was a huge hit with the kids!

I am so pleased that the party was a great success!  We were thrilled to host our friends and their loved ones, and celebrate this extremely exciting time in their lives!  We couldn't be happier for their new family and can't wait to plot future camping adventures!

Congrats Ryan and Brynn!

We love you and can't wait to meet your cuddly bundle of joy - xoxo

WEDDING WEDNESDAY | PRETTY BACHELORETTE PARTY

Once in awhile, a beautiful girl meets a handsome man...  And then WE get to help her sensational bridesmaids plan her a gorgeous party!  I got to work very closely with the bridesmaids as one of Emily's closest gal-pals is also a dear friend of mine.  As a fellow designer, she has excellent taste, which made things a breeze!  Thanks Ally!

This party was such a delight to help design.  It really came down to nailing all the details to achieve the classy feel that was desired with a modern play on color and pattern.  We certainly had a wonderful evening and I hope you've enjoyed the images!

A special thank you to my dear friend and talented designer, Ally Fountain!  You were so wonderful and easy to work with.  The party turned out beautifully!  And I can't wrap this blog post out without a HUGE thank you to the wonderfully talented, Wynne Earle with Wynne Earle Photography.  You captured every details of this party to perfection! xoxo

Emily wed her husband on August 23, 2015!  Congratulations Emily! We love you!

WEDDING WEDNESDAY | WHIMSICAL BRIDAL SHOWER

A couple of weeks ago myself and another bridesmaid, Sasha, planned a perfect bridal shower brunch for our very own, Heather Scherie! Our great friend and go-to photographer, Wynne, happened to bring her camera and took some beautiful photos of the party and many of the details, so we have no choice but to share the prettiness with you! It was a simple party to plan, especially when you're not doing it alone! Sasha took care the food prep while I handled the design and decor. With a couple easy DIYs and a trip to the wholesale flower market where we selected in-season blooms, like peonies and mums, we were able to create inexpensive, pretty and whimsical tablescapes and vignettes. Also, thank you to Target's Spritz party decoration line for having plates, napkins, straws and other accents that tied in with the invitation!

It all started with the invitation that perfectly matches the bride's personality - we chose a custom instant download invitation from Etsy which made it quick and easy to print and mail out.

One of the games we played was  "How well do you know your groom?" One of my bridesmaids made it for me and it's something I will have forever and knew Heather would love it just as much. I made laminated question and answer cards that we read off to her and she had to guess his answers. It made for a lot of laughs and story telling...also some tears as the last note card we had Paul share why he was so excited to marry Heather. You can see the DIY game here!

If anyone knows Heather Scherie well you may know about her slight obsession with Jonathan Adler pottery. Sasha and I found this cute JA bird pitcher/vase and filled it with extra flowers. It added to the decor for the party but she got to take it home with her as her shower gift. She loved it!

We hope you enjoyed these photos and inspires you for your next party or get together! And Heather, I hope you're enjoying Thailand with your new husband!

Cheers! Katie
